This Is YOUR Website, SCSR!

project carShould I first apologize for taking so long to get this site up and running? Well, I would, but you guys shoulda had a website pit stop a loooong time ago, so we all kinda dragged our asses, didn’t we? ;) But I am really happy that I was able to do this and I am proud of the work I put into it. Like any decent project involving our beloved hotrods and custom cars, trucks and bikes, it still needs work - and a whole lotta content to keep the site fresh and the traffic flowin’.

I will do my best to get things organized and the announcements posted for the Show & Shine and Grafitti Night. There’s lots of pictures to put up too and I am as anxious as you are to see your prized ride featured here on the website. But I’d like to use this first post to draw your attention to a couple things I need help with.

flyerThe logo in the corner of the website is something I spent quite a few hours putting together, but I will be the first to admit it needs a little change - you might even think it needs a lot of change. Well, I didn’t have much to go on. All I had for a template was the flyer sent out announcing the shows. 1934 Ford CoupeI think I did pretty damn good, considering, but there are issues. The car ain’t one a yours. I’d like to have one of the clubs own cars in that logo. The way I designed it lets me change the car fairly easily. Don’t go gettin’ carried away though, it still requires some considerable time to do it. You guys pick the car you want and that’s what we’ll use. If you don’t have decent pictures, I can do that too. Maybe we can change the car in that logo once a year or so. Or maybe not. :D

mountain picThe mountain picture in the background of the logo is a picture I took of the mountain range near Bassett Station - uh, sorta. I did take the picture, but I flipped it and stretched it, so it doesn’t look as much like the mointain as the mountain would like. I know, God’ll get me for that. But my point is that I think I need to get a better mountain picture. You are certainly welcome to offer any suggestions, or submit your own picture for use.

Go ahead and make any comments you’d like about the logo and I’ll do my best to make you happy. I did manage to get a picture of Rusty’s Corvette in the header. That’s another picture that can - and should - be changed regularly. I’d really like to see a shot of all the member’s cars who have won a prize or trophy have a turn up there. I guess that means my fine ride won’t be up there anytime soon. :(

Okay, that’s all for now. Post your comments. Tell your friends. Send me anything you want to have posted here. Some of you will get trained on how to use this, so’s I don’t have to do all the work. Let me know if you’re interested. In the mean time, I hope you approve of what I’ve done so far.
