Your IT Weenie Had Fun in the 3D World
Posted on Saturday, June 7th, 2008
For you car guys and gals that aren’t Internet savvy, IT stands for Internet Technology. I thought about using the term “webmaster,” but it’s a good bet most of you don’t know what that means either. I’m the guy who works on the website for you - pointing and clicking and trying to make Sierra Cascade Street Rodders dot COM as cool as some of your cars.
Which brings me back to the subject of this post. The 3D world I am referring to is The 19th Annual Show & Shine I attended today - and The 3rd Annual Graffiti Night, sponsored by the Quincy Elks Club last night too. I had a BLAST! I’m sure those of you who were there saw me gliding around on my own cool ride, grinning ear to ear. That’s because the show was one of the best I’ve attended here in our corner of the world. It made me proud to be your webmaster.
We’ll post a full report of the Show & Shine for 2008 and the Graffiti Night, along with lots of pictures later. I think it would be great to get the words of some of the club members, mainly because I’m not sure my own version is worthy enough. So, if you are a club member, or someone who attended and would like to offer your own first-hand report, please use the contact form and send your thoughts through the ether to me. Let me know if you have pictures you’d like to post too and I’ll tell you how to get them to me. Remember, this is your website, SCSR Members, and it will be so much better with your participation.
Let me close this now by giving a hardy congratulations to Craig “Goose” Helrich, who was this year’s Best of Club award winner. That’s a beautiful 1933 Chevy Coupe. Goose’s car will be the club’s logo car for the next year. I haven’t replaced the original one as of this post date, but I hope to get it done shortly. I think it’d be great to feature each year’s BoC in the logo. Here’s a picture of the happy winner. Until the next post, drive safe.
